Beloved brother to Gunnar, Uncle to Ares.  We rescued Luka from people in Florida that had neglected, him for 3 years, therefore abusing him. We he flew in to us, he was a mess. His nails were so long he could barely walk, causing atrophy in his rear legs and he could not walk correctly, his teeth were in bad shape, he was missing patches of hair and was in need of a lot of love. His ears were stiff from all the hemotoma procedures. This lineage has wheat allergies and they were feeding him wallmart-old roy food-full of wheat. We started with a bath using Primp n' Poo which soothed his skin. Next was a trip to the Vet for a teeth cleaning and nail trimming. A new diet of Natural Balance Lamb & Brown Rice L.E.D. and short walks to build his stamina. Within 4 weeks his hair started to come back and he was walking with more confidence. Within 6 weeks he was jumping on the bed and going for long walks. After a year he still has some issues with his right rear leg, it is if he can't feel all of it. He is able to extend it while walking now, but his paw still twists out when pushing off. He loves to run now as has fun playing with our other BRT's.  |
